Platform4’s café is run by the volunteers - the Café4 group. Awesomely dedicated people who work without pay and are driven simply by good intentions and dire passion to make Platform4's social spot the most awesome place for themselves and people in Aalborg to hang out in, relax, dance, party and have fun.
This year a new Café4 group has launched, and is now working on shaping the concept of Café. This process includes everything from making menu, planning events and making parties, as well as buying new espresso gear, planning shifts and having great evenings together.
2012 is a very important year for Platform4, where the move to our new venue will happen. Therefore more hands and a more efficient system of handling everything has to be invented and implemented. For this reason the Café4 group is proud to announce a completely new thing – the Gang & Chief concept.
Gang & Chief
A Gang is a power team of 3-6 people. Each member will need to take 3 shifts every month and for that they will be reward so-called "Pleuros" (abbreviated "PL€" - these are green tokens that give 50% off on a beverage in the bar), a free ticket every month to an event at Platform4, exclusive parties for volunteers-only, a trip to the seaside, new friends, bartending experience and much more.
A Chief is a person who will be responsible for a Gang. This person will tie together the Gang, make sure members have a good time, take care of some accounting and other stuffs. For this great job Chiefs will get PL€, free tickets to all events at Platform4, experience in managing the café, recommendation letter if needed - and tons of other nice stuff.
Last - but not least important - point of grouping in Gangs is the competition. All gangs will compete amongst each other to become Gang of the Month and later in the season Best Gang of the Year. Winners will get one day’s free bar, Platform4 t-shirts, a trophy, tickets to an event, theater or cinema, privilege of being in the eternal Gang Hall of Fame, honor, prestige and satisfaction.
