Do you want to explore how you can design for purpose, individuality, long-lifetime, and existence? Vanessa Carpenter has been examining how to enable meaningful experiences in the use of smart products and will take you through a series of questions and analysis and tell a how product experience is, or is not, enabling meaningful experiences for its users
Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Vanessa moved to Scandinavia to complete a Master’s of Interaction Design in Sweden. She then joined the Collaborative Interactive Arts Studio: illutron, a floating maker space in Denmark and amidst fire cannons, dancers, computer controlled lights, sounds and robots, she has contributed to creating a network and community of Makers, tinkerers, nerds, thinkers, and creatives throughout Scandinavia. She has her own company with Dzl, “GeekPhysical”, and works at IdemoLab, DELTA with hardware prototyping in context. She is currently writing a PhD about designing for meaningfulness at Aalborg University, Copenhagen.
